About WrkGenie
Why WrkGenie exists
A job management tool built in the UK, for the people who actually do the work.
Where it started
WrkGenie was built by Autchara Norris in Bude, Cornwall, after watching small service businesses manage their work across a chaotic mix of WhatsApp threads, paper notes, and spreadsheets held together with optimism.
The problem wasn't laziness or disorganisation — it was that most job management software was either designed for large field-service teams with dispatch boards and SLA contracts, or it was a basic US invoicing app with no real understanding of how UK trades businesses operate. Neither option fit.
The specific things that kept coming up: invoices sent late (or not at all) because there was no system for it. Customers chased for payment weeks after a job was done. Job history scattered across multiple apps. Quotes that took an evening to write. Payments tracked on a spreadsheet row that someone would forget to update.
WrkGenie was built to close all of those gaps — not with a feature-heavy platform, but with a clean, fast workflow: job in, quote out, invoice sent, payment tracked. On a phone. Before you leave the customer's driveway.
What we believe
Simple beats comprehensive.
A tool you actually use is worth infinitely more than a tool with every feature you will never touch. WrkGenie is intentionally not the most powerful software in the market — it is the most usable one for the businesses it is built for.
UK businesses deserve UK-first software.
VAT invoicing, GDPR data handling, GBP pricing, UK-specific payment terms — these are not edge cases. They are the default for UK service businesses. Software that treats them as afterthoughts is software that was built for a different market.
Your data belongs to you.
WrkGenie does not lock your customer or job data behind paywalls or export restrictions. If you leave, you take your data. That is not a selling point — it is just correct.
No contracts. No pressure.
Monthly billing, cancel anytime. If WrkGenie stops working for you, you should be able to leave without a conversation with a retention team.
Transparency over hype.
The changelog is public. Pricing is on the pricing page. There are no hidden fees. If something does not work well yet, we say so — including on comparison pages where competitors genuinely do something better.
Who WrkGenie is for
WrkGenie is built for sole traders and small service businesses in the UK who need a practical way to manage jobs, quotes, invoices, and payments — without learning a complex system or paying for features they will never use.
The businesses that tend to get the most from WrkGenie:
- ·Electricians, plumbers, and gas engineers managing callouts and recurring service jobs
- ·Builders and roofers quoting project work and tracking job costs
- ·Cleaners and window cleaners running a round of regular customers
- ·Handymen and multi-trade operators with a varied, high-volume job list
- ·Gardeners, landscapers, and painters managing seasonal demand
- ·Any sole trader or small team spending more than 2 hours per week on admin
If you are managing a single-van operation or a team of up to five people, WrkGenie is built for your scale. It works on mobile — because that is where the work happens.
What WrkGenie is not
Being honest about what a product is not is more useful than claiming it does everything. WrkGenie is not:
How the product is built
WrkGenie is built mobile-first. Every core action — adding a job, sending a quote, creating an invoice, recording a payment — is designed to take under two minutes on a phone. That is not a technical constraint; it is a product decision. The person using WrkGenie is usually between jobs, in a customer's hallway, or sitting in a van. The software has to work in that context.
New features are added when customers consistently hit a limitation in their day-to-day work — not to extend a feature matrix or compete with enterprise platforms on breadth. The changelog is public. Updates are shipped regularly.
WrkGenie launched in January 2026 and is under active development. It is not a finished product — but it is a stable, production-ready one that real businesses are using to manage their work today.
