Hairdressing Service Price Calculator

Work out what to charge for a hairdressing service using your own staff, time, rate and costs — not standard haircut prices.

The appointment

Labour

Elapsed appointment time, e.g. 1.5.

Two staff working a 1.5-hour appointment is 3 labour hours, not 1.5.

Direct costs

Colour, treatment, and consumable products used on this service.

Pricing

Markup is added on top of your base cost. It is not the same as margin.

How this calculator works

Labour. Total labour hours = appointment time × number of staff. Labour cost = total labour hours × your labour cost per hour.

Base cost. Labour plus products/materials and any other direct costs.

Suggested price. Base cost plus your chosen markup. Markup is a percentage added on top of base cost — it is not the same as margin, which is a percentage of the final price.

Cut type, hair length, and stylist level do not change the price on their own. If a service takes longer or needs more product, you enter that extra time or cost yourself. We do not invent standard haircut prices.

This is a planning and pricing aid. Use your own costs and rates, and adjust the result to fit the service and your business.

Common questions about the hairdressing service price calculator

How is the hairdressing service price calculated?

Total labour hours is your appointment time multiplied by the number of staff. That is multiplied by your labour cost per hour, then products and other direct costs are added to make the base cost. Your chosen markup is then added on top.

Does the price change by cut type, hair length, or stylist level?

Not automatically. The calculator has no haircut, length, colour, or stylist-level pricing. If a service takes longer or needs more product, you enter that extra time or cost yourself.

Is markup the same as profit margin?

No. Markup is a percentage added on top of your base cost. Profit margin is a percentage of the final price and is calculated differently. The calculator clearly labels its markup step to avoid confusion.

Do I need an account to use the calculator?

No. The calculator works without signup, email, or payment details. You can use it on your phone and print or save the result as a PDF.
